Kathy Webb

Veterinarian - BVSc (Hons) BA MACVSc (Eq. Med.)

Kathy graduated from the University of Queensland Veterinary School in 1986 with an Honours degree and was immediately employed in the local area. After marrying a local grazier 3 years later, and then after a total of almost 7 years local veterinary experience, Kathy started a family. She then stepped out on her own, in order to continue to work full-time locally. Fitzroy County Veterinary Surgery, named after the local region, County of Fitzroy, opened 6 months after the birth of her first son James in December 1993. Kathy and her husband Bruce had a second son, Ryan, in 1996. She lives just outside of Nanango township with her human family, as well as 2 dogs, 2 cats, her horses (on the property with the cattle) and a tank of tropical fish.

Kathy has always worked as a rural mixed practice veterinarian and examines and treats all species of animals presented, including cats, dogs, horses, cattle, alpacas, sheep, birds, wildlife and exotics. Kathy has a special interest in horses, gaining a membership of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in the Medicine of Horses in 2009, and attended a Post-Graduate Workshop in Equine Dentistry in 2010. She regularly vets at Endurance Rides and has gained both AERA and FEI veterinary accreditation in this sport. Kathy attended a conference in Ireland in 2009 on Alpacas. Her husband manages the family commercial beef property “Gibbarnee” in the Brisbane Valley which is primarily run from horse-back.
